Overview

Spinal cord cancer is a rare form of cancer that affects the cells of the spine. The survival rate of this type of cancer is low, typically ranging between 10-20%. Despite advances in treatment and research, the prognosis for patients with spinal cord cancer is still poor, due to its aggressive growth and complexity. Treatment methods available vary depending on the type and stage of the cancer and include surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. With early diagnosis and access to appropriate treatment, improved survival rates are possible, allowing patients to live longer and fuller lives.
