Overview

Clinical practice is the application of medical knowledge, skills, and judgment to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of patients. It integrates scientific evidence with clinical experience and patient values, and is shaped by professional standards, communication, ethics, and the organization of health services. Effective clinical practice depends on accurate diagnosis, appropriate use of interventions, attention to safety, and continuous improvement of quality and outcomes. Research connected to this topic includes a video portal designed to improve the oncological skills of home-care nurses and its added value for clinical practice, epistemological aspects of medical practice, and prescriber knowledge, attitudes, and practices in antimicrobial stewardship. Other studies examine the toxicity of iodinated radiographic contrast agents in routine practice, hand-hygiene knowledge among healthcare workers, and immunoassay and immunogenomic approaches to monitoring cancer and infectious disease. Further work addresses nutritional support in cancer patients, cognitive-behavioral approaches to insomnia, non-pharmacological management of disrupted sleep in dementia, and implant techniques in dentistry. Spanning diagnosis, therapeutics, safety, professional conduct, and the translation of evidence into care, the study of clinical practice supports the delivery of effective, consistent, and patient-centered medicine across diverse specialties and settings.
