Overview

Agricultural hazards are the potential dangers commonly associated with farming and related activities such as pesticide use, livestock handling, and agricultural equipment operation. Agricultural hazards can cause serious injury, disability, and even death. Many countries have implemented regulations to reduce the risk of agricultural hazards, but they remain an important occupational health concern. Education, proper safety equipment, and improved safety protocols are some of the ways farmers can reduce their risk. Understanding the dangers associated with agricultural activities and having the proper safety measures in place is essential for reducing the risk of agricultural hazards.
