Biography:
- Prof. Lee is a director in the National Leading Research Laboratory and a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Myongji University.
- He received his Ph.D. in 1993 in Fermentation Biochemistry from Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, where he worked an natural product chemistry and molecular biology.
- From 1993 until 1995, he worked on antibiotic chemistry and X-ray crystallography in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
- From 1995 to 2003, he was a professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Youngdong University.
- In 2003, he moved to Myongji University.
- His recent work has focused on stem cells (regenerative medicine), antimicrobials, multidrug resistance, and biochemistry and X-ray crystal structure of ESBLs (extended-spectrum ?-lactamases) and carbapenemases as well as structure-based drug design.
- He has authored more than 100 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals (books), many of which were the first in the field of Infectious Diseases, Drug Resistance, and Stem Cells.
- Prof. Lee is currently a Deputy Director General and Scientific Adviser of IBC, an evaluator in French National Research Agency, and the Editor in many peer-reviewed journals (especially, Editor-in-Chief in Res. J. Microbiol. [USA]).
