Research Interests:
Cardiovascular disease, Cerebral Small Vessel Disease, Stroke, Stem cell biology, induced pluripotent stem cells.
Biography:
- I am Stem Cell Scientist leading the research group for modeling cerebrovascular diseases using patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC).
- I obtained my PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology at King's College London and completed two postdoctoral research fellowships in the department of Clinical Neurosciences at UCL and in the department of Medicine, Cardiovascular Division, at the University of Cambridge.
- Currently I am working on a project to develop human iPSC-based models to investigate the mechanisms underlying genetic Cerebral Small Vessel Diseases.
- I believe that iPSC model offer a powerful screening platform for new target/drug discovery and personalised medicine, ultimately, resulting in improved patient care.
