Discounts & waivers
Membership discounts
Members of JHHR’s publisher receive reduced APC pricing. Because the exact reduction depends on the membership tier, see Membership for current rates and eligibility rather than a single headline figure here.
Low-income-country waivers
Authors from World Bank-classified low-income countries are eligible for APC waivers; partial waivers are available for lower-middle-income countries based on demonstrated need.
Hardship waivers
Individual authors facing financial hardship may request a discretionary waiver. Requests are considered case-by-case at submission.
Payment options & timing
- PayPal — we accept payment via PayPal. For bank-transfer payments, contact the Accounts Department at [email protected].
- Credit/debit card — Visa, MasterCard, American Express, via a secure payment gateway.
- Institutional invoice — we can invoice your institution directly.
- Grant funding — documentation is provided for grant reimbursement.
The payment deadline is stated on the invoice. Reasonable institutional processing time is allowed; contact the accounts team before the due date if additional time is required.
Withdrawal policy
Concurrent submission to multiple journals is not permitted. Withdrawal requests must be sent to the editorial office and are handled under the publisher’s current Terms and Conditions; this page does not state an unverified journal-specific percentage fee. Official withdrawal should be confirmed before the manuscript is submitted elsewhere.
Access and licensing
- Immediate availability — your article is freely accessible worldwide from the moment of publication, with no subscription barrier or embargo period.
- Wider reach — readers can find, read and cite the article without needing a subscription or institutional access.
- Policy compliance — many funding agencies and institutions require open-access publication for grant-funded research.
- Public engagement — healthcare providers, patients and policymakers can access and apply your findings immediately.
- Permanent access — your work remains accessible with a stable DOI for long-term citation.
