What is in place
- Journal identifier
ISSN 2578-8590 — the registered serial identifier for International Physiology Journal, held in the international ISSN register. An ISSN identifies a serial; it is not an index.

Crossref — articles are registered with Crossref and assigned DOIs under the publisher prefix 10.14302, with the bibliographic metadata deposited alongside them. DOI registration provides persistent identification and citation linking; it is not selective indexing.

- Discovery metadata
Article pages carry the structured citation metadata that scholarly search and discovery services read, including title, authors, publication date, volume, issue, pages and DOI. Publishing this metadata makes an article discoverable; it does not by itself establish inclusion in any particular service.
- Digital preservation
This journal’s content is committed to Portico, a not-for-profit digital-preservation archive run by ITHAKA (the organization behind JSTOR). As articles are deposited they enter Portico’s permanent archive, so the scholarly record stays available for the long term — even if a title one day ceases to publish.
- Funder deposit
Eligible NIH-funded manuscripts may be deposited individually in PubMed Central through the NIH Manuscript Submission System (NIHMS). Individual manuscript deposit through NIHMS is a funder compliance route for the author’s own article; it is separate from journal-level inclusion in PubMed, MEDLINE or PubMed Central.
