Core Responsibilities

Manuscript Assessment

Evaluate submissions for scientific merit, novelty, clinical relevance, and methodological rigor. Determine if manuscripts fit JOT's scope.

Reviewer Selection

Identify qualified experts without conflicts of interest. Balance specialization with perspective diversity for comprehensive evaluation.

Decision Authority

Make accept, revise, or reject decisions based on reviewer reports and independent judgment. Provide clear, constructive feedback.

Timeline Management

Maintain efficient processing. Ensure timely reviewer invitations, follow-up, and decision communication to authors.

Ethical Conduct
  • Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents
  • Recuse from manuscripts with conflicts of interest
  • Avoid using unpublished information from submissions
  • Report suspected misconduct to Editor-in-Chief
