Current Call for Papers

JPGR special issues bring together focused collections of research on timely topics in proteomics, genomics, bioinformatics, and systems biology. Each special issue is organized by expert Guest Editors who curate high-quality submissions to create comprehensive resources for the research community. Special issues provide enhanced visibility through targeted promotion and thematic grouping with related research.

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts to any open special issue matching their research focus. All submissions undergo rigorous peer review and receive the same publication services as regular JPGR articles. Check individual special issue descriptions for specific scope and deadline information.

Single-Cell Proteomics and Genomics

Deadline: March 31, 2026
Guest Editors: Dr. Jennifer Chen, Prof. Michael Roberts

This special issue focuses on emerging technologies and applications for single-cell omics analysis. We welcome manuscripts on single-cell proteomics methods, single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, multi-modal single-cell analysis, and computational approaches for single-cell data integration and interpretation.

Proteogenomics in Precision Medicine

Deadline: June 30, 2026
Guest Editors: Prof. David Kim, Dr. Sarah Martinez

This collection explores the integration of proteomics and genomics data for precision medicine applications. Topics include proteogenomic characterization of cancer and other diseases, variant calling and protein identification, neoantigen discovery, pharmacoproteogenomics, and clinical implementation of integrated multi-omics approaches.

Submission Guidelines

Authors interested in contributing to ongoing special issues should follow these guidelines to ensure proper handling of their submissions.

  • Review the special issue scope carefully to ensure your research fits the collection theme
  • Prepare manuscripts following standard JPGR author guidelines and formatting requirements
  • Submit through the ManuscriptZone system selecting the appropriate special issue
  • Include a cover letter explaining how your work fits the special issue scope
  • Note the submission deadline and plan accordingly for timely submission

Article Processing Charges

Standard JPGR article processing charges apply to special issue submissions. Member discounts and waiver policies remain available for special issue authors. Contact the editorial office for questions about pricing or payment options for special issue manuscripts.

Propose a New Special Issue

Researchers interested in organizing a special issue on a topic not currently covered are invited to submit proposals. JPGR welcomes special issue proposals from established researchers in proteomics, genomics, bioinformatics, and related fields. Successful proposals demonstrate clear scope, timeliness, and capacity to attract quality submissions from the research community.
