Eversion Sprains

An eversion sprain is a type of ankle injury in which the ankle rolls outward. It occurs when the foot is forcibly pushed inward, causing the outer ankle ligaments to stretch and tear, leading to pain and swelling. In most cases, eversion sprains can be easily treated with rest, ice, compression and elevation of the ankle. If treated quickly, eversion sprains can typically heal within a few weeks. If left untreated, they can lead to chronic instability or chronic pain. Eversion sprains are important to treat promptly, as they can significantly affect mobility and quality of life.
