Cartilage Engineering

Cartilage engineering is a field of regenerative medicine that seeks to restore damaged or missing cartilage through tissue engineering. It involves the use of cells, scaffolds, and biomaterials to create a 3D construct that mimics the natural environment of cartilage and promotes its growth and healing. Due to its ability to provide a source of regenerative tissue, cartilage engineering has become an important tool in the treatment of debilitating joint diseases such as osteoarthritis and joint injuries, and has been used to restore or improve joint structure and function. This can lead to improved mobility and quality of life for the patient.
