All manuscripts are reviewed by board-certified rheumatologists or specialists in relevant subspecialties (immunology, musculoskeletal imaging, rheumatology nursing).
Submission Received
Your manuscript enters our system and receives immediate confirmation. Our editorial team begins initial screening for scope, formatting, and completeness.
Day 0Editor Screening
Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor reviews manuscript for journal fit, scientific merit, and adherence to guidelines. Plagiarism check performed using iThenticate (similarity index must be below 30%).
Days 1-3Reviewer Assignment
Manuscript assigned to 2-3 expert reviewers specializing in your research area (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, spondyloarthritis). Reviewers selected based on expertise, publication record, and availability.
Days 4-7Peer Review
Expert rheumatologists evaluate your manuscript for scientific rigor, clinical relevance, methodology, data interpretation, and contribution to the field. Single-blind peer review ensures unbiased evaluation.
Days 8-21Editorial Decision
Editor synthesizes reviewer feedback and makes decision: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject. Detailed reviewer comments and editor's letter provided to guide revisions.
Days 22-28Revision Submission
