Copyright & License
Open access licensing supporting broad dissemination of enzyme research.
Creative Commons Open Access
JEN publishes all articles under Creative Commons licensing, ensuring immediate free access while protecting author rights. This model maximizes research impact by removing access barriers for researchers worldwide.
CC BY 4.0: Articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Anyone may share, copy, redistribute, and adapt the material for any purpose, including commercial use, provided appropriate attribution is given.
Copyright Ownership
Authors retain copyright while granting JEN publication rights. You maintain full ownership of your enzyme research.
Self-Archiving
Deposit published versions in institutional repositories and personal websites without embargo.
Reuse Rights
Freely reuse your published content for teaching, presentations, and derivative works.
Users must cite original authors, article title, journal name, volume/issue, and DOI when reusing content. Modifications should be noted. The license does not imply endorsement of derivative works by original authors.
When including previously published figures, tables, or substantial quotations, authors must obtain permissions and provide appropriate attribution.
By submitting manuscripts, authors warrant that work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and does not infringe third-party rights. Authors confirm necessary permissions for reproduced content.
JEN commits to maintaining published content accessibility and integrity. We address legitimate concerns about published work following Committee on Publication Ethics guidelines.
CC BY licensing permits commercial reuse with proper attribution. This includes inclusion in commercial databases, educational materials, or derivative products.
Published articles may be translated into other languages provided appropriate attribution is maintained. Translations must identify the original source clearly.
Authors who posted preprint versions before journal submission retain those preprint rights. The final published version carries the CC BY license. Authors should update preprints with links to the published version for accurate citation.
Supplementary data published with articles follows the same CC BY licensing. This enables reuse and reanalysis of enzyme datasets while maintaining attribution to original authors.
Open access publication does not affect patent rights. Authors with pending patent applications should consult with their technology transfer offices regarding publication timing and disclosure requirements.
CC BY licensing explicitly permits educational reuse of published enzyme research. Instructors may incorporate JEN articles, figures, and data into courses and educational materials with proper attribution to original authors.
Researchers building upon JEN publications may create derivative works under CC BY terms. This includes meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and database compilations incorporating published enzyme data with appropriate citation and acknowledgment of original contributions.
acknowledgment of original contributions.Authors may deposit final published versions in institutional repositories immediately upon publication. Green open access deposits are permitted without embargo under the CC BY license terms.
