Article Processing Charges
The journal is open access, and publication is funded by an article processing charge rather than by reader subscriptions. The charge falls due after a manuscript has been accepted.
The rates below are the journal’s current published schedule. They are stated in United States dollars.

The charge covers editorial assessment and the coordination of peer review, copyediting and production, DOI registration and metadata validation, open-access hosting and long-term archiving.
Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
The article processing charge is payable only after editorial acceptance.
Editorial decisions are independent of fees, services, membership, and editorial or reviewer roles.
Billing
How payment is handled
- 1 Acceptance
An invoice is issued after the editorial decision to accept.
- 2 Invoice
The invoice is sent to the corresponding author or to the institutional contact named for the manuscript. Questions about an invoice go to [email protected].
- 3 Confirmation
Production begins once payment is confirmed.
- 4 Publication
Publication follows copyediting, author proofs and DOI registration.
Fee relief
Partial waivers and discounts
Partial waivers are considered case by case. A request must reach the editorial office before the manuscript is accepted, and the outcome of a request has no bearing on the editorial decision.
Membership carries a discount on the article processing charge; the terms are set out on the Membership page. Authors with questions about fee relief should contact the editorial office before submitting.

Withdrawal
Withdrawing a submitted manuscript
Authors should contact the editorial office promptly and wait for written confirmation before submitting the work elsewhere.
Manuscripts withdrawn within 3 days of submission are not subject to a withdrawal charge.
Manuscripts withdrawn more than 3 days after submission incur a withdrawal charge equal to 30% of the journal’s APC.
Authors must receive official withdrawal confirmation before submitting the manuscript to another journal.
