About the journal
Therapeutic science is done in many places at once — a mechanism worked out at the bench, a formulation solved in development, a dose refined in a clinic — and it is usually published in pieces, each in the venue of its own discipline.
This journal exists to hold those pieces in one place, and to read them as one subject.

Purpose
What the journal is for
A therapy is not one finding. It is a chain of them: a reason to think an intervention might work, a design that acts on that reason, a way of getting the agent where it has to go, and an honest account of what happened when it was tried. Each link is studied by a different community, reviewed against different conventions, and published in a different journal.
The cost of that separation is borne by whoever has to reassemble the chain. Journal of Advanced Therapeutic Science is edited on the premise that the chain is itself the object of study, and that work is easier to judge when the mechanism, the intervention and the evidence can be read against one another.

Readership
Who the journal is edited for
The primary reader is a researcher deciding whether a result changes what they do next: a pharmacologist reading a delivery paper, a formulation scientist reading a mechanism, a clinician reading a development study, a methodologist reading all three.
That reader is served by precision rather than persuasion. Articles are expected to say what was done, to whom or to what, under which conditions, and what follows — including where the evidence stops.

Editorial responsibility
How manuscripts are handled
Editorial responsibility rests with the journal's editors, who oversee peer review and uphold publication ethics. Editors recuse themselves from decisions on their own submissions, and those manuscripts are handled independently.
- Screening. All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review.
- Review model. Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request. Manuscripts that proceed to external peer review are normally evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts.
- Decisions. Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal.
- Independence. Editorial decisions are independent of the article processing charge, of membership, and of any paid service, and they are not made on commercial grounds. The three submission routes are alternative ways of delivering the same manuscript, so the route a manuscript arrives by does not change how it is assessed. Reviewing or editing for the journal confers no advantage in the review or acceptance of that person's own work.

Disciplinary role
Where the journal sits
The remit is set by the journal's name rather than by its back catalogue. Aims and Scope states it in full; in brief, the journal publishes work whose central question is therapeutic.
It is a general venue for a specific question
Not a venue for one disease, one modality or one method. A manuscript is in scope because it asks a therapeutic-science question, whatever the biology or the technique it uses to answer it.
It reads across the development chain
Mechanistic, translational, formulation, delivery, clinical and methodological work are assessed on their own terms, and each is read as part of the same subject rather than as a visitor from another one.
It treats form as evidence, not rank
A proposed framework and a documented course of care answer different questions. Neither outranks the other; each is judged by what its own form can establish.
It is open by default
Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license and authors retain copyright, so the record can be read, taught from and built on without permission.
