JAPST special issues highlight priority topics in pharmaceutical science and technology. Active themes are updated regularly and may include areas such as advanced drug delivery, regulatory innovation, pharmacogenomics, real world evidence, and pharmaceutical analytics.
If you are unsure whether your manuscript fits a current theme, contact the editorial office for guidance. Themes are selected based on relevance, timeliness, and community interest, and they may be expanded as new developments emerge. Updates are posted regularly.

How to submit to an ongoing special issue
- Prepare your manuscript according to JAPST author guidelines.
- Reference the special issue theme in your cover letter.
- Submit via Manuscript Zone, the online form, or email.
- Complete revisions promptly to align with the special issue timeline.
Timeline and milestones
Special issue submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. Authors are encouraged to submit early to align with issue deadlines and promotional timelines.
After acceptance, articles publish online promptly and are later grouped into the collection.
Review standards
Special issue submissions receive the same peer review standards as regular manuscripts. Guest editors may provide topical guidance, while JAPST maintains editorial oversight and final decisions.
Accepted articles publish online on a rolling basis and are then grouped into the special issue collection. All review decisions are independent of APC payments and based solely on scientific merit.
APC and discounts
Ongoing special issue submissions follow the standard JAPST APC policy. Membership discounts or special issue promotions may apply when available. APCs are charged only after acceptance. Student and membership discounts may apply when eligibility is confirmed. Contact the editorial office for current offers.
